Protection for food contact.

For food, beverage and packaging equipment: surface texturing, coating, polishing and coating inspection – matched to product contact, loading and cleaning.

PFAS-free coatings

Food & beverages

Where material meets the tool.

Whether a cutting edge, forming shoulder or sealing bar: the contact zone is what matters – under pressure, temperature and movement.

Switching to PFAS-free materials can change friction, adhesion and wear. That is why we also consider the tool surface: texture, polishing and coating are tailored together to your process.

Coated cutting edge

Reduce adhesion
Less material build-up can make release easier and reduce cleaning effort.
Keep tools in service longer
Hard PVD coatings protect surfaces under load against wear. The aim is longer tool life.
Stabilise processes
Control friction and material flow to reduce surface defects and rejects.

Applications & services

Cutting

Circular knives and cutting tools

Hard PVD coatings protect cutting surfaces under load against abrasive wear. The coating and cutting edge are matched to the material and cutting conditions.

Forming & demoulding

Forming tools and product-contact mould surfaces

When material sticks or is difficult to release, we consider friction, surface texture and coating together. Polishing and coating are tailored to the contact surface.

Guiding & conveying

Forming shoulders, guides and conveyor components

Friction and material build-up at contact surfaces influence material flow. We design the surface and coating for the product or packaging material being guided.

Sealing & packaging

Sealing bars and packaging tools

New packaging materials can change how material releases from the tool. We tailor the surface to the material, temperature, pressure and cleaning requirements, then evaluate it in the process.

Injection molding for packaging

Molds for plastic packaging and closures

In plastic packaging production, polishing and coating are applied to mold surfaces. The aims are reduced adhesion and wear, and reliable demolding over longer service intervals.

Surface texturing + coating

Designing the contact surface

Our partner network complements PVD with targeted laser texturing. The texture influences contact, wetting and adhesion. The thin coating preserves the texture and adds hardness and wear protection.

Testing and optimisation

Test coating properties, investigate causes of damage and tailor improvements to your application.

Finding the right surface together

The benefit becomes clear in your process.

We start with a specific tool and a clear task. Together with you, we define which improvement matters.

  1. Understand the contact zone

Where does material stick, and where does wear occur? Together, we examine the tool, material, temperature, pressure and cleaning.

  2. Design the surface

We combine suitable PVD coatings, polishing and, where needed, texturing from our partner network – tailored to the critical contact zone.

  3. Compare in the process

A treated tool is compared with a reference tool under real operating conditions. Agreed metrics make it possible to assess the benefit.

What we compare together

  • Cleaning intervals & material build-up
  • Tool life & wear
  • Rejects & surface quality
  • Process forces & material flow
